Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and rapper Jay-Z have launched a Bitcoin fund that aims to improve the spread of BTC in emerging markets and manifest Bitcoin’s reputation as an internet currency.

Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter and the payment app Square, has bought a Bitcoin Full Node. In a tweet titled “Running Bitcoin”, Dorsey lets the users of his platform participate in the latest BTC loyalty program.

After Amazon founder and long-time CEO Jeff Bezos announced his retirement from the board of directors on the evening of February 2, 2021, Andy Jassy will take this position in the future. Jassy is currently the head of the cloud service Amazon Web Service and is crypto-savvy.

We have found out in a personal interview with Bitbond CEO Radoslav Albrecht why the security token corresponds to a bond, where it can be traded and what the targeted EUR 100 million should be used for.

QUESTION: Why did you issue a bond and not a share?

Radoslav Albrecht: That has something to do with our business model. We are a platform where small business owners and self-employed people can apply for working capital financing. As a platform, we grow, the more investment potential exists, that is, the more investors want to invest on our platform. So far, we are already doing well in terms of equity. However, we are always looking for new ways to expand our refinancing potential; and to that extent, a debt product is at first the most obvious. Because after we dealt with security tokens, we realized relatively quickly that a debt product fits best. Here there is a very good match of costs and coupon or profit share for the investors of the token.

Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk considers Bitcoin to be “brilliant”. In his opinion, this could even replace paper money in the future. Tesla on the other hand keeps a distance to Bitcoin. Due to environmental concerns, it is not a strategic decision for the company to turn to the cryptocurrency, Musk said in a podcast this week.
