witter CEO Jack Dorsey is an avowed Bitcoin fan. As such, he has now consequently acquired a full node.
Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter and the payment app Square, has bought a Bitcoin Full Node. In a tweet titled “Running Bitcoin”, Dorsey lets the users of his platform participate in the latest BTC loyalty program.
With “Running Bitcoin” Dorsey quotes the BTC pioneer Hal Finney, who a few days after the Genesis block provided a tweet with the same wording. Finney succumbed to an ALS disease in 2014.
By setting up a Bitcoin Full Node, Dorsey underlines his BTC devotion. Full nodes are nodes that store the entire BTC transaction history and synchronize with other nodes. By verifying transactions for accuracy and sharing this information with other nodes, full nodes are essential for the security of the network. Full nodes thus enforce the consensus rules of the network. The more of them there are, the more decentralized and more secure the network from attacks.
With his own full node, Dorsey is now doing his part to secure the network. Anyone who follows Dorsey’s career will not be surprised by this step. The Twitter CEO never tires of expressing his passion for Bitcoin and has done mass adaptation a great service by integrating BTC into the Square payment service.
